GODSMACK's SHANNON LARKIN: 'I Wanted To Be ANGUS YOUNG On The Drums'
September 19, 2008Charles Runnells of News-Press.com reports: GODSMACK drummer Shannon Larkin moved to Cape Coral [Florida] about three years ago to be a little closer to the Boston-based band. But the former Santa Barbara, California, resident still wanted to live somewhere warm.
"I liked the small-town vibe," he says. "And it's close to the beaches."
The GODSMACK drummer is known mostly for his versatility and flashy drumstick tricks. He often tosses the sticks in the air — or behind his back — and catches them without missing a beat.
Larkin says he's always identified with rock showmen like Angus Young from AC/DC.
"That was my thing," he says. "I wanted to be Angus Young on the drums.
"I wanted to make people look at the drummer for once."
